Dead Women Poets Society:
Poetry ‘séance’

Friday 26th May
Sheffield General Cemetery Samuel Worth Chapel, S11 8NT
19:30 – 21:30
£3 – £12

Event Description

Dead [Women] Poets Society resurrects women writers. At this ‘séance’ in the extra-special venue of Sheffield’s General Cemetery, prize-winning poet Charlotte Shevchenko Knight will resurrect Ukrainian activist and leading writer Lesia Ukrainka. Also featuring Safia Khan resurrecting Lebanese-Palestinian poet May Ziadeh. Our resurrectors will introduce you to their chosen dead women poets, and speak back with haunting new work.

Then we’ll hold our popular open mic, where audience members of all genders and none take to the stage, sharing a poem by a dead woman poet as well as (or instead of) a poem of their own. Sign up to the open mic.
