Verse Matters is an intersectional feminist arts collective based in Sheffield.  Verse Matters provides a supportive space for poetry, spoken word, storytelling, music and comedy, showcasing the work of talented people in a friendly, safe environment.

Jaspreet Kaur is a spoken word artist who works with national governments, corporations and charities alike, such as TED, the UN, Westminster Interfaith Council and women’s networks across the UK, using her poetry to inspire and drive change.

Vanessa Kisuule is a writer, performer and burlesque artist. She has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, The British Library, and Bristol Old Vic, and many festivals including Wilderness, Secret Garden Party and Glastonbury.

Caleb Femi is a poet and director. He has written and directed short films commissioned by the BBC and Channel 4 and poems by Tate Modern, The Royal Society for Literature, St Paul’s Cathedral, the BBC and the Guardian.

Rupinder Kaur is a Birmingham-born Panjabi poet. Her debut poetry book Rooh was released with Verve Poetry Press in September 2018. Her work straddles English and Punjabi culture – fusing words from Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu and English.
